Good City Brewing Downtown: Reviews & Ratings
Good beer and decent food. The cheese curds were very good. They also have good sandwiches. Chicken Caesar salad was okay.
Fried chicken sandwich. Actually painful to eat due to how overcooked and dry it was. The bread was nice. 0.5/10 Pico de gallo 6.0/10 Curry fries 8.4/10 Chilli was very watery and had no flavor whatsoever. It lacks seasoning and spice and is just and overall a poor attempt at chilli. 1.0/10 The burger however is very good and the candied Bacon is so mouth watering. The only thing I would change is the shredded lettuce to the leaf of lettuce. 7.0/10 Pulled pork sandwich 8.0/10 (KM) Double cheeseburger 6.2/10 Mac & cheese 6.0/10 no loud flavors. Kinda bland. Burrito 6.5/10
Good beer and great atmosphere. Very open and plenty of space. They have TV's by the bar and are located right next to the Fiserv Forum. They have outdoor space and a rooftop section when it is war enough. Our server was very polite and attentive. We had the Giant Pretzel and Curry Fries. Giant Pretzel was filling and the beer cheese it came with was delicious. Curry fries were one of the best fries i had. Crunchy outside and perfectly balanced spice blend. Prices were decent, average for a brewery.
Really enjoyed the boneless wings! They were more like smaller chicken tenders, but VERY crispy and saucy. Also got the bacon burger. It was good, but it would’ve been better with the double patty. Ended with the birria tacos! They were super crispy and flavorful, but a different style than what I’ve enjoyed at other places. Margarita was solid, made from scratch. For beer, enjoyed the Firefly Hazy IPA - it was smooth, almost like a milkshake IPA, and fruity.
We hosted a private event here and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly accommodating, and special shoutout to the team for going out of their way to get me some of their beer cheese soup—it was absolutely incredible. Hats off to the chef and the entire crew for making the night seamless and memorable. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Milwaukee. Highly recommend!
Great location! We were here for a wedding. The private hall has a gorgeous renewed industrial feel. We sneaked up to the rooftop patio and the Milwaukee sunset was gorgeous! The beer is pretty decent here. We loved the Octoberfest. We had an appetizer that we really enjoyed, but the catered food for the wedding was a little lacking. It tasted good, but could’ve been executed better. The Mac and cheese was a one-note cheese sauce without any add-ins. The chicken sandwich was one of the thinnest butterflied tenderloins possible. It was actually crispy on the edges, although the rest of the sandwich was good. Overall a good experience. But we wish the food had been better.
First the good, Good City had a good selection of draft beer. We tried the Firefly (hazy ipa) a little light on the hops and haze taste, but not bad. And then Risk (American IPA) this one was spot on. We tried the curry popcorn, good flavor but needed more salt. The Rueben sandwich was stellar. The Siracha mayo and pickled jalapeño sauerkraut gave this sandwich a unique flavor. (Really good). But, yea there is always a but, the Spicy Chicken sandwich was drowned in hot sauce and overwhelming and the curry fries also needed more salt. Nothing really terrible, but not 5 stars.
